Written for merchants who went looking for an alternative after their bill changed. Every statement about Rewind below is quoted from Rewind's own public replies on the Shopify App Store, linked at the bottom, so you can check them rather than take our word for it.

Where Rewind is ahead

  • · Nine years in market, hundreds of reviews, and a track record through real recovery incidents. StoreArk launched in 2026 and has neither.
  • · Backs up Klaviyo, Mailchimp and QuickBooks alongside Shopify. StoreArk covers Shopify store content only.
  • · Staffed support team. StoreArk is one developer answering email.
  • · Covers orders and customers. StoreArk deliberately does not, which is a trade-off: less to restore, but no personal data held.

If what you need is one vendor covering Shopify, your email platform and your accounting, Rewind does that and StoreArk does not. If what you need is Shopify store content backed up at a price that stays put, read on.

Switching

There is no data to migrate. Backup history lives with whichever app captured it, so switching means installing StoreArk, letting it take its first snapshot, and keeping Rewind until you are satisfied. The two do not conflict.

  1. Install StoreArk. It runs its first backup automatically.
  2. Check the coverage table against what you assumed Rewind was covering. Most surprises live here.
  3. Ask Rewind for your export while you are still a paying customer, if you want their history.
  4. Try one restore in StoreArk before cancelling anything.
  5. Cancel Rewind from your Shopify admin.
